Transportation Assistant Fleet Manager

    • About the Role

    The Assistant Fleet Manager supports daily fleet operations and works closely with drivers, dispatch, maintenance, sales, and leadership. This role focuses on routing, scheduling, safety compliance, driver support, and operational efficiency. The position is hands on and includes on call coverage and occasional route driving when needed.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with routing, scheduling, and dispatch

  • Support DOT and OSHA compliance and safety programs

  • Train, coach, and evaluate drivers

  • Maintain driver files, licensing, and compliance records

  • Serve as backup route delivery driver when required

  • Support hiring, onboarding, and retention of drivers

  • Coordinate with sales and operations to optimize routes and service

    • Qualifications

  • Trucking experience required

  • Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations

  • Class A CDL with clean driving record

  • Valid medical card

  • 3 or more years of trucking or fleet administration preferred

  • Experience with ELD systems; Samsara a plus

  • Strong communication, organization, and problem solving skills

    • This role works across the office, warehouse, shop, and field and requires flexibility and reliability. Employment is contingent on passing a background check and drug screen. As a federal contractor, Spokane Produce is a drug free workplace.
